Personal information

Personal details on the TDAC must match the passport that will be used to enter Thailand. Travellers should have the following ready:

  • Full name in the same spelling and order as the passport.
  • Date of birth.
  • Nationality and, where relevant, country of residence.
  • Sex as listed in the passport.
  • Email address that can receive the confirmation.

Small differences such as missing middle names or accents should be entered exactly as they appear in the machine-readable zone of the passport, where possible.

Passport information

The passport itself is the central document for the TDAC. Travellers should prepare:

  • Passport number.
  • Passport issue date and expiry date.
  • Country of issue.

Thailand generally requires that the passport remain valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. A passport that is close to expiry should be renewed before travel, regardless of TDAC status.

Travel and transport information

The form asks for details about the journey into Thailand. Travellers should have:

  • Mode of arrival: air, land or sea.
  • Flight number, vessel name or land border crossing point.
  • Date and approximate time of arrival.
  • Country boarded from.

Tickets, e-tickets or itinerary emails from airlines, cruise lines or coach operators typically contain all of this information.

Accommodation details

The TDAC asks where the traveller will stay on the first night in Thailand. Useful details include:

  • Hotel, guesthouse, hostel, condominium or residence name.
  • Full street address, including district and province.
  • Postal code where available.

Confirmation emails from booking platforms usually list the property's full address. Travellers staying with friends or relatives can use that address, written as accurately as possible.

Purpose of visit

The form asks the traveller to select a purpose of visit. Common options include:

  • Tourism or holiday.
  • Business meetings or conferences.
  • Visiting family or friends.
  • Education or study.
  • Transit through Thailand to another country.

Travellers should choose the option that most accurately describes the main reason for the trip. If multiple reasons apply, the principal purpose is usually expected.

Visa or permission to enter

Some questions may relate to the type of permission a traveller will use to enter Thailand. Depending on the situation, the traveller may need to know:

  • Whether the visit is under a visa exemption.
  • Whether a visa was issued in advance and, if so, its type and number.
  • Whether a re-entry permit or other long-stay permission applies.
